For example, we claim that Marc Chagall, Georges Rouault, and to a lesser extent Max Beckman are neo-Humanist and neoclassical in spirit, because their art involves deep and uplifting meaning and transformation, which is not elitist, and is communicable to an audience, and whose message is contained within the form of the work itself. “
