Mark Vigil graduated from University of Oregon, Eugene with an M.M. in composition and subsequently studied for 10 years with the prominent Oregon composer Thomas Svoboda.
He was asked to be a composer member of Restore the Arts because of his unswerving dedication to beauty and “heart” in music and because he is a gifted melodist.
We have posted here a recent recording of his new piece for orchestra – and we hope to open a discussion with him about the work…
He is pictured above with a full string quartet behind him  because he has made specialty of writing string quartets and now has seven – in his catalogue of roughly 80 works of music.
